Construction Operative

About the role

As a Construction Operative at UKTC you will support the preparation and installation of client specimens within our fire‑resistance testing laboratory. The role combines hands‑on building work with strict housekeeping and safety standards to ensure reliable test outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Build supporting constructions in line with client specifications and relevant testing standards.
• Assist with fire‑resistance testing using the furnace equipment.
• Dismantle and dispose of test specimens and supporting structures after testing.
• Maintain clean and safe laboratory and build areas, including equipment upkeep.
• Perform any additional duties required to support laboratory operations.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar construction or civil‑works role.
• Strong joinery and partition‑building abilities.
• Practical problem‑solving capability.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Solid understanding of health & safety procedures.
• Highly organised, able to meet tight deadlines and deliver consistent quality.
