Credit Control Team Leader (Hybrid)

About the role

We are partnering with a leading UK law firm to find an experienced Credit Control Team Leader. The role combines hands‑on working capital management with people leadership, stakeholder engagement and process improvement, operating on a hybrid model.

Key responsibilities

• Manage working capital across assigned departments and key client portfolios.
• Collaborate with Partners and lawyers to minimise aged debt, WIP and client exposure.
• Lead regular review meetings with senior stakeholders on complex matters.
• Act as senior point of expertise for credit control, revenue and billing queries.
• Oversee and coordinate monthly billing and cash‑collection activity.
• Ensure compliance with revenue control policies, including discount and write‑off procedures.
• Support improvements to billing, credit control processes and systems.
• Provide day‑to‑day leadership, coaching and development to Credit Controllers and Billing Assistants.
• Serve as escalation point for complex, sensitive or high‑value client and billing issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, team performance and cash collection.

Required profile

• Proven experience in credit control or revenue management, handling complex portfolios.
• Comfortable working with senior stakeholders such as Partners and senior lawyers.
• Strong people‑leadership and coaching abilities.
• Professional qualifications are desirable but not essential.
