Emerging Markets Portfolio Manager – Global Macro

About the role

This is a front‑office, discretionary investment position within a leading institutional investment platform. The role focuses on macro investing across Emerging Markets, with a particular emphasis on local rates, foreign exchange and sovereign fixed‑income in the CEEMEA region.

Key responsibilities

• Manage discretionary Emerging Markets macro portfolios covering local rates, FX and sovereign debt.
• Develop differentiated macro views on monetary policy, inflation, politics and structural economic trends.
• Translate macro convictions into appropriately sized, risk‑managed investment positions.
• Construct and manage portfolios using both linear and non‑linear instruments.
• Collaborate with a global macro investment team while retaining ownership of investment decisions.
• Engage with economists, policymakers and market participants to support the investment process.

Required profile

• Significant experience managing or contributing to discretionary Emerging Markets portfolios within an asset manager, hedge fund, investment bank or similar institution.
• Strong expertise in Emerging Markets local rates, foreign exchange and sovereign fixed‑income.
• Fundamental, medium‑term macro investment approach rather than short‑term trading.
• Proven ability to construct portfolios, manage investment risk and express macro views across multiple Emerging Markets.
• Deep understanding of macroeconomics, monetary policy and political developments in the CEEMEA region.
