Farm Networking Officer – North East Region

About the role

The Farm Networking Officer will work within the North East Farm Business Support Service to create and deliver networking and learning events for farm businesses across the region. The role combines programme design, event coordination and partnership development to support farm business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design, coordinate and deliver a structured programme of farm business events, workshops and knowledge‑exchange activities.
• Manage all aspects of event delivery, including speaker recruitment, venue booking, catering and promotion.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, feedback, pipelines and outcomes to support reporting and funding claims.
• Develop bespoke technical‑advice workshops in collaboration with the support service team.
• Promote the programme at agricultural shows, local marts and other relevant gatherings.
• Contribute to monitoring, evaluation and reporting for the service manager.
• Work with internal and external partners, attend working groups and foster a collaborative team culture.
• Uphold health and safety standards and report any incidents.

Required profile

• Experience in planning and delivering events or workshops, preferably within an agricultural or rural context.
• Strong organisational and record‑keeping abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and partners.
• Awareness of health and safety policies and procedures.

• Hybrid working with a base in Rothbury (or Hexham) and travel across the North East.
• Fixed‑term contract until 31 March 2029.
• Salary range £34,434 – £38,220 per annum.
