Finance Controller – Global Luxury Brand (London, Hybrid)

About the role

The Group Financial Controller will lead the finance function for a globally recognised luxury retail brand. Reporting to the Finance Director, you will own financial control, accounts payable and inventory accounting across a multi‑entity, multi‑currency organisation while guiding a large finance team.

Key responsibilities

• End‑to‑end financial control including month‑end and year‑end close, balance‑sheet integrity, statutory reporting and audit coordination.
• Full ownership of the Accounts Payable function – payment runs, invoice processing, banking controls and supplier master data management.
• Inventory and stock accounting for a significant global stock holding, ensuring accurate valuation, movement tracking and reconciliation.
• Day‑to‑day leadership of a large finance team, fostering high performance and clear accountability.
• Design, maintain and continuously improve the internal controls framework in line with best practice and audit requirements.
• Drive process improvement and systems optimisation, supporting ongoing ERP development and automation initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Proven experience managing 10+ direct reports in an in‑house finance team.
• International or global business exposure, preferably in multi‑currency, multi‑entity environments.
• Process‑driven mindset with a track record of scaling financial operations.
• Experience in retail, consumer goods or global brands with substantial product inventory.
