VAT Compliance Specialist – Hybrid, Central London

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on VAT Compliance Specialist to join a leading financial services organisation in Central London. The role is hybrid, with three days in the office and two days remote, and focuses on delivering accurate VAT reporting while improving related processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and on‑time submission.
• Extract, manipulate and reconcile data from the ERP system.
• Collaborate with Finance and Accounts Payable teams to confirm correct VAT treatment.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
• Support VAT reporting controls and documentation.
• Contribute to a broader mixed tax remit, including corporation tax compliance and provisioning (secondary to VAT).

Required profile

• Proven experience in VAT compliance.
• Strong Excel skills for data handling, reconciliation and analysis.
• Familiarity with tax technology or ERP systems and large data sets.
• Practical, solutions‑driven mindset with a focus on process improvement.
• Excellent communication and ability to work across finance teams.
