Financial Accountant

About the role

Travel Chapter is expanding its finance function and seeks a Financial Accountant to join the Technical Accounting team. The role is hybrid, based in Bideford, and offers the chance to work on month‑end, statutory reporting and IFRS‑related accounting while partnering with business units.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare consolidated monthly management accounts for the Group.
• Own balance‑sheet reconciliations, journal postings and ensure general‑ledger accuracy.
• Lead IFRS‑related accounting tasks, including lease accounting and monthly adjustments.
• Investigate variances, support statutory reporting and audit deliverables.
• Act as a key contact for external auditors and advisors.
• Review finance processes, mentor junior team members and identify improvement opportunities.
• Support payment runs, financial controls and maintain statutory records.

Required profile

• Experience in a busy finance or accounts environment.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, especially IFRS and lease accounting.
• Proven ability to prepare or support monthly management accounts.
• Comfort with balance‑sheet reconciliations, journals and statutory reporting.
• Proactive, analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
