Financial Controller (Hybrid) – London

About the role

This is a senior finance position reporting directly to the Managing Director. You will lead the finance function, providing strategic insight and commercial analysis while shaping the organisation’s performance and growth plans. The role offers high visibility, hybrid working and the chance to influence key business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and business planning activities.
• Deliver management information and commercial analysis to support strategic decisions.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and financial risk to maintain a strong financial position.
• Oversee statutory reporting, audit processes and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and improve financial controls, systems and reporting frameworks.
• Partner with operational leaders to identify growth, efficiency and profitability opportunities.
• Support key initiatives through financial modelling, analysis and recommendations.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Manage relationships with auditors, banks and external advisors.
• Conduct internal group audits and drive continuous improvement across finance processes.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Head of Finance or similar senior finance leadership role.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to translate financial data into actionable insight.
• Demonstrated experience leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Collaborative, hands‑on leadership style.
• Experience in a multi‑site, consumer‑facing or service‑led environment is a plus.
