Graduate Airframe Engineer

About the role

BAE Systems is seeking a Graduate Airframe Engineer to join its Air Team in Brough (Hull). You will work across four core disciplines – Aerodynamics, Design, Materials and Structures – contributing to the development and support of world‑leading combat and fast‑jet trainer aircraft.

Key responsibilities

• Apply wind‑tunnel testing and computational fluid dynamics to analyse and optimise aircraft designs.
• Produce integrated airframe design definitions and CAD models to enable manufacture and certification.
• Analyse, qualify and test materials, investigate material properties and failures, and support new material development for airborne platforms.
• Perform structural analysis calculations to validate strength, stiffness and life‑cycle performance of airframe structures.
• Manage product bill of materials and liaise with stakeholders throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Required profile

• Recent graduate in an engineering discipline relevant to aerospace (e.g., Aeronautical, Mechanical, Materials).
• Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom.
• Willingness to work on‑site 4‑5 days per week within a hybrid/flexible arrangement.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
