HGV Technician Apprenticeship – Waste Vehicle Maintenance

About the role

Join Biffa as an HGV Technician Apprentice and gain hands‑on experience maintaining and repairing a fleet of waste collection vehicles. You will work in a dynamic workshop environment supporting eco‑friendly waste services.

Key responsibilities

• Service and repair vehicle chassis and cabs to VOSA requirements, including MOT preparation.
• Maintain and repair waste handling equipment, covering electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Diagnose and rectify vehicle faults efficiently.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, both electronically and on paper.
• Support health and safety initiatives to uphold OHSAS18001 standards.

Required profile

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities.
• A valid Cat B driving licence.
