Highway Supervisor – Isle of Wight

About the role

As a Supervisor you will lead highway maintenance and improvement works on the Isle of Wight, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and to quality standards. You will work closely with operational leads, clients and subcontractors to create a high‑performing site environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support operational teams delivering highway works on site.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safe systems of work are followed.
• Plan and allocate labour, plant and materials to meet programme requirements.
• Deliver site inductions, briefings and toolbox talks.
• Monitor progress and quality, maintaining accurate site records.
• Coordinate with clients, subcontractors and colleagues to resolve issues.
• Support traffic management and temporary works.
• Identify opportunities for improved delivery, performance and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.

• Relevant certifications such as SSSTS, SMSTS, NRSWA or First Aid (valued).
