Hire Desk Controller

About the role

Banner Plant is seeking an enthusiastic Hire Desk Controller to join our Derby depot team. You will be the first point of contact for customers, managing hire contracts, quotes and day‑to‑day desk activities while supporting the wider operations team.

Key responsibilities

• Process new hire contracts and create accurate quotes in line with company policy.
• Answer telephone and email enquiries, meeting service‑level expectations.
• Negotiate hire costs within defined parameters and resolve customer queries promptly.
• Maintain up‑to‑date records in the CRM and other internal systems.
• Collaborate with the Accounts, Workshop and Transport teams to ensure smooth resource management.
• Identify and flag any risks or issues to the Hire Manager or Depot Manager.
• Support sourcing of tools not available in the depot to meet customer requirements.
• Provide data for management reports and assist with performance monitoring.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
