Housekeeping Assistant – Care Home

About the role

We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and dedicated Housekeeping Assistant to join our award‑winning team at Merlin Court Care Home in Wiltshire. You will work as part of a supportive team to maintain high standards of cleanliness and laundry, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for our residents.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out all cleaning duties according to worksheet instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of all surfaces, respecting the specific requirements of different materials.
• Manage laundry processes in a public setting, ensuring hygiene and presentation standards.
• Respect residents’ dignity, personal space, and belongings at all times.
• Adhere to health and safety, fire safety, and COSHH guidelines while performing duties.

Required profile

• Demonstrates the values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable behaviour.
• Knowledge of health and safety, moving and handling techniques, fire safety, and COSHH assessments.
• Experience in cleaning and laundry within a public or care setting.
• Compassionate attitude with a commitment to high‑quality service.
• Flexible and adaptable to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Required skills

• Health and Safety knowledge (including Moving and Handling techniques)
• Fire Safety awareness
• COSHH assessment familiarity
• Experience with cleaning and laundry in a public environment
