Housing Officer – Bristol, South Gloucestershire & North Somerset

About the role

As a Housing Officer for Curo, you will manage a patch of 450‑650 tenants across Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset, delivering frontline housing services and building strong community relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary relationship manager for your patch, building trust and keeping tenancies on track.
• Conduct tenancy audits, sign‑ups, viewings, mutual exchanges and fixed‑term renewals.
• Identify and address tenancy breaches early, balancing accountability with tenancy sustainability.
• Perform regular estate inspections, ensuring standards and communal service quality.
• Recognise safeguarding concerns and make appropriate referrals in partnership with statutory agencies.
• Lead resident engagement and community development activities.
• Handle cases of harassment, hate incidents or tenancy fraud with specialist support.
• Signpost tenants to external services for money, employment, training and wellbeing.

Required profile

• Experience in housing management, social housing or a comparable customer‑facing service role.
• Working knowledge of housing law and good practice, including tenancy breach handling.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build trusted relationships with residents, colleagues and external partners.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle.
• Optional: CIH or similar qualification, experience supporting vulnerable customers, knowledge of safeguarding principles.
