Inquests Lawyer – Healthcare & Public Law

About the role

Our client, a leading national law firm, is expanding its Healthcare and Public Law team and seeks an Inquests Lawyer at Associate or Senior Associate level. The role involves advising NHS bodies, independent healthcare providers and other public sector clients on complex inquests, public inquiries and related regulatory matters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and conduct advocacy at inquest hearings for healthcare‑related cases.
• Provide legal advice on public inquiries, Court of Protection matters, judicial review and governance issues.
• Manage high‑profile, multi‑disciplinary matters with minimal supervision.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships across the health and social care sector.
• Contribute to business development and identify opportunities to broaden service offerings.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with proven experience in healthcare‑related inquests.
• Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal matters independently.
• Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proactive, flexible approach to client service and willingness to travel as needed.

Required skills

• Strong advocacy and courtroom presentation abilities.
• Effective communication and client relationship management.
• Solid understanding of healthcare law, public law and regulatory frameworks.
