Junior/Mid Android Developer - Manchester or Belfast

About the role

We are looking for a Junior to Mid‑level Android Developer to join a leading digital consultancy that creates next‑generation experiences for global brands. You will work in multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with engineers, designers and architects to deliver high‑quality mobile applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design and contribute to mobile application architecture.
• Develop new features using Kotlin (Java experience beneficial).
• Integrate APIs and collaborate with backend teams.
• Work closely with designers to implement intuitive, beautiful UI.
• Ensure performance, scalability and security across devices.
• Conduct testing, debugging and maintain documentation.
• Stay up‑to‑date with Android trends, tools and best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and influence technical decisions.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Kotlin and the Android SDK.
• Knowledge of Jetpack libraries such as Room, LiveData, ViewModel, WorkManager, Navigation and Compose.
• Familiarity with Material Design and responsive UI principles.
• Experience integrating third‑party APIs (REST/JSON/XML) and publishing to Google Play.
• Proficiency with Git, testing frameworks and debugging tools.
• Understanding of architectural patterns (MVP, MVVM, Clean Architecture) and threading.
• Awareness of Android security best practices.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
