About the role
Lead the architecture of the Bank of England’s flagship programme to modernise regulatory data collection and management. You will shape the design and delivery of a new data‑collection platform handling large volumes of submissions from banks, insurers and other financial firms.
Key responsibilities
- Develop technology strategies, roadmaps and high‑level designs (HLDs, blueprints, target states) for enterprise and regulatory platforms.
- Lead architectural governance, presenting at design forums and ensuring alignment with Bank‑wide standards.
- Shape secure data architectures on Azure, covering ingestion, validation, modelling and metadata design.
- Partner with Technology, Data, Policy and Delivery stakeholders to influence decisions and provide thought leadership.
- Support procurement, vendor assessments and define technical requirements for key programmes.
Required profile
- Strong Azure capability (ADLS, Databricks, App Services, identity and integration patterns).
- Experience designing scalable, secure architectural artefacts and roadmaps.
- Deep understanding of data ingestion, validation, processing and integration.
- Proven stakeholder management across technical, business and supplier teams.
- Experience producing architecture designs and navigating governance and assurance processes.

What we offer
- Hybrid working (40‑50% office attendance) with flexible start/end times and a working‑from‑abroad policy.
- Salary £80,320‑£90,360 (London) or £72,320‑£81,360 (Leeds) plus 8% benefits allowance, discretionary bonus (10‑25%) and non‑contributory pension.
