About the role
The Learning Support Assistant provides dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and nurturing their social and emotional development. You will work closely with the SENDCO and Assistant SENDSO within a supportive school environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver personalised 1:1 assistance to children with diagnosed additional needs.
- Implement learning activities that align with the overall teaching plan.
- Support pupils’ social and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day.
- Collaborate with the SEND team and classroom staff to ensure inclusive learning.
- Maintain a positive, solution‑focused attitude and contribute to a cohesive team.
Required profile
- Passionate, friendly and dedicated to supporting students with additional needs.
- Strong communication skills, patience and understanding.
- Team‑player who can work effectively with staff and pupils.
- Self‑driven, solution‑focused and able to maintain a positive outlook.
