Learning Support Assistant

About the role

The Learning Support Assistant provides dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and nurturing their social and emotional development. You will work closely with the SENDCO and Assistant SENDSO within a supportive school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised 1:1 assistance to children with diagnosed additional needs.
• Implement learning activities that align with the overall teaching plan.
• Support pupils’ social and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day.
• Collaborate with the SEND team and classroom staff to ensure inclusive learning.
• Maintain a positive, solution‑focused attitude and contribute to a cohesive team.

Required profile

• Passionate, friendly and dedicated to supporting students with additional needs.
• Strong communication skills, patience and understanding.
• Team‑player who can work effectively with staff and pupils.
• Self‑driven, solution‑focused and able to maintain a positive outlook.
