Linux System Engineer

About the role

We are looking for experienced Linux System Engineers to join CGI’s Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit. Working on a secure client site, you will support and enhance Linux environments across production and non‑production systems, ensuring reliability, performance and security while collaborating with cross‑functional teams and government clients.

Key responsibilities

• Define, guide and assure delivery of integrated technical solutions for mission‑critical systems.
• Maintain and improve secure Linux environments, monitoring performance and implementing security hardening.
• Work closely with clients to understand requirements and translate them into robust system designs.
• Participate in on‑site operations, attending the client site five days a week.
• Contribute to continuous learning and development initiatives within the team.

Profile required

• Proven experience as a Linux System Engineer or similar role.
• Eligibility for high‑level UK Security Clearance (British nationality, 10‑year UK residency).
• Ability to work on‑site in a secure environment and adhere to strict security protocols.
