Manufacturing Engineer – Chassis Assembly

About the role

Lotus UK Manufacturing is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support chassis assembly on its high‑performance sports car production lines. The role will manage existing processes, introduce new tooling and technologies, and act as the primary point of contact for all chassis assembly engineering activities.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main POC for chassis assembly manufacturing process issues.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Perform PFMEA and manage equipment, personnel, and facility risk assessments.
• Support production and project teams, investigating concerns and resolving problems.
• Analyse operations sequence, material flow, fixturing, and tooling to improve line balancing and throughput.
• Design and draft layout of equipment, materials, and workspaces for maximum efficiency.
• Create, develop and maintain process sheets from released engineering data.
• Identify training needs for operators and coordinate on‑the‑job training.
• Support time studies, process audits and the introduction of new tooling/fixtures.

Required profile

• Experience in manufacturing engineering within an automotive or high‑performance vehicle environment.
• Ability to work across multiple departments and influence continuous improvement.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with a focus on safety, quality and efficiency.
