Mobile Service Technician - Medical Device Maintenance

About the role
We are seeking a technically skilled, customer‑focused Mobile Service Technician to install, maintain, calibrate and repair specialist bio‑decontamination and infection‑control equipment used in healthcare, pharmaceutical, laboratory and clean‑room environments. The role is field‑based, covering South Wales and the South West of England, and includes full training before starting.
Key responsibilities
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and servicing on electro‑mechanical decontamination equipment.
- Diagnose and repair faults in pumps, motors, fans, valves, relays, sensors, ultrasonic atomisation systems and control electronics.
- Carry out electrical fault‑finding using multimeters and diagnostic tools.
- Inspect, calibrate and test humidity, airflow and process sensors; conduct leak testing and tubing inspections.
- Support equipment installations, commissioning, validation and emergency breakdown response.
- Deliver operator training and refresher sessions to customers.
- Maintain accurate service reports, calibration records and maintenance logs.
Required profile
- Electro‑mechanical engineer or field service technician background.
- Experience with installation, maintenance and calibration of specialist bio‑decontamination systems.
- Willingness to travel across South Wales and the South West of England.
- Ability to work independently on‑site and adhere to QHSES and regulatory requirements.
Required skills
- Ultrasonic vaporisation technology.
- Hydrogen peroxide delivery systems.
- Airflow and catalytic deactivation systems.
- Embedded control electronics and HMI/touchscreen interfaces.
- Process sensors, safety interlocks and alarm systems.
- Electrical fault‑finding with multimeters and diagnostic tools.
- Calibration of humidity, airflow and process sensors.
- Leak testing, tubing inspection and airflow performance checks.
