Multi Site Store Manager – Liverpool Airport

About the role

WHSmith is looking for a Multi‑Site Store Manager to lead several airport retail formats, including InMotion and hospitality, at Liverpool Airport. You will be responsible for driving growth, ensuring compliance, and delivering a world‑class customer experience across all locations.

Key responsibilities

• Foster a unified culture across stores, develop training plans and manage HR processes.
• Conduct regular store visits, use data to set SMART actions, and monitor progress.
• Maintain high standards for stock availability, shrink control, and productivity.
• Manage the commercial scorecard – sales, shrink, payroll, and legal compliance.
• Allocate staffing effectively, handle peak periods and control food waste.
• Coach teams on customer service, queue management and sales techniques.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of continuous employment or education references (no gaps) to meet airport security requirements.
• Ability to lead multiple teams, promote diversity and wellbeing, and act as an advocate for staff.
• Strong organisational skills to ensure compliance with HMRC, health‑and‑safety and other legal standards.

Required skills

• Experience using retail performance data to drive results.
• Knowledge of shrink management and payroll budgeting.
• Understanding of airport retail operations and security checks.
