Ocean Imports Coordinator – End-to-End Shipment Management

About the role

We are looking for an Ocean Imports Coordinator to join our busy ocean operations team in Ashby de la Zouch. The role is hybrid, offering flexible start times between 07:30 and 08:30 and ending between 16:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end ocean import shipments (FCL and LCL) from booking to final delivery.
• Prepare and review import documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Submit customs instructions promptly to avoid clearance delays.
• Monitor shipment progress, identify and resolve issues proactively.
• Act as the main point of contact for allocated customers, handling queries, claims and complaints.
• Control costs by checking and managing charges, and arrange onward transport.
• Collaborate across teams and contribute to continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• Solid experience in ocean imports and multimodal logistics.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑service mindset.
• Proactive problem‑solver with high accuracy and efficiency.
• Team player who can also work independently when needed.
