About the role
This is a two‑year fixed‑term position supporting a public sector organisation in Edinburgh. The role is hybrid, requiring at least three days per week on‑site, and offers a daily rate of £120.
Key responsibilities
- Manage office and IT services, acting as the primary contact for facilities contractors, IT support, and front‑of‑house staff.
- Provide diary and inbox management for senior staff, arrange travel and handle related logistics.
- Deliver secretarial support for meetings, including note‑taking, summarising discussions and tracking actions.
- Assist with hearings by welcoming attendees, issuing lanyards and greeting witnesses.
- Facilitate onboarding of new employees and manage related requests.
- Support financial processes such as raising purchase orders, receipting invoices, processing payments and reconciling statements.
- Contribute flexibly to other team tasks and areas as needed.
Required profile
- Strong organisational ability and calmness under pressure, with sound judgement to prioritise competing tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide range of stakeholders.
- Proactive self‑starter who contributes ideas for continuous improvement.
