Part-Time Lecturer – Vegetable Production (Fall 2026)

About the role

Dalhousie University is seeking a part‑time academic to teach HORT 2000: Vegetable Production during the Fall 2026 term. The role involves delivering in‑person lectures and laboratory sessions to undergraduate students in Truro, Nova Scotia.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly lectures on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (4:35 pm – 5:25 pm).
• Conduct laboratory sessions on Fridays (8:35 am – 10:25 am) and organize field tours.
• Prepare, administer and grade tests and assignments.
• Maintain the course’s Brightspace page, including uploading materials and communicating with students.
• Coordinate with the Department Chair on scheduling and administrative matters.

Required profile

• At least one year of teaching experience at a post‑secondary institution.
• Excellent oral and written communication, collegiality and interpersonal skills.
• PhD in Plant Science, Horticulture, Agronomy or a related field, OR a Master’s degree with two years relevant experience.
