Part‑time Receptionist – GP Surgery

About the role

This part‑time position supports the front‑desk of a busy four‑partner GP practice in Kirkcaldy. You will work three days a week, providing a friendly first point of contact for patients and ensuring smooth administrative flow.

Key responsibilities

• Handle reception duties including greeting patients, managing phone calls and directing enquiries.
• Schedule appointments, process prescription requests and assist with general patient enquiries.
• Maintain accurate patient records and support the multidisciplinary team.
• Provide sign‑posting and information to patients as required.
• Work occasional extended shifts until 6:45 pm on a rotational basis.

Required profile

• Organised, proactive and responsible with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent customer‑service orientation and confident communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, especially under pressure.
• Commitment to confidentiality and flexibility to cover staff absences or overtime.

Required skills

• Competency in using GP clinical systems (advantageous).
• Previous experience in a public‑facing role.
