Performance Analyst

About the role

The Performance Analyst will develop and maintain Fraud Defence’s performance measures, analyse fraud‑related trends and produce high‑quality reporting for senior leaders and operational teams. Working within the Fraud Data Analytics team, you will help improve the quality of MI reporting and support decision‑making across the MOD.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct complex analysis using SQL, Python and other tools to provide insight on fraud performance across the MOD and partner organisations.
• Develop dashboards, visualisations and reporting products using Excel, Power BI and similar tools to support decision‑making.
• Produce written reports and performance updates for operational decision‑making and statutory reporting, including returns to the Public Sector Fraud Authority.
• Collaborate with Operations, Commercial, Risk, Compliance and Investigations teams to improve data quality, reporting and insight.
• Support fraud loss exercises and fraud risk assessments to help the MOD understand the scale and impact of fraud risk.
• Represent Fraud Defence at internal and external stakeholder meetings, presenting analytical insights.
• Contribute to a collaborative analytical community, sharing demand and developing shared skill sets.
• Promote continuous professional development and mentor colleagues in line with Defence values.

Required profile

• Experienced analyst comfortable working with complex information and competing priorities.
• Ability to work independently while balancing long‑term analytical development with short‑term reporting.
• Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and clear communication of insights to senior leaders and non‑technical audiences.
• Organised and adaptable in a fast‑paced environment.
