Photonics Technical Lead

About the role

Infleqtion is seeking a Photonics Technical Lead to shape and expand its integrated photonics capabilities. Based in Kidlington, Oxford, you will act as the UK technical lead, guiding the transition of innovative photonic technologies into commercial quantum products.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the UK integrated photonics capability and serve as the primary technical point of contact.
• Oversee the technical performance of a portfolio of photonics projects, ensuring alignment with business and customer objectives.
• Develop and maintain roadmaps for photonic integrated circuits (PICs), laser systems, and integrated photonic subsystems.
• Collaborate with Quantum Systems teams across the UK, US, and Australia to identify and develop photonics opportunities.
• Manage technical risks, set objectives, and support project delivery through design reviews and milestone reporting.
• Identify technologies suitable for product development, commercialization, and intellectual property protection.
• Lead design, simulation, layout, fabrication, and testing activities for photonic components.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in integrated photonics and quantum technology environments.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage technical personnel and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong track record of delivering complex photonics projects from concept to production.
