Planning Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Planning Manager to join Bovis on a major public sector project in Gloucester. The role will oversee the planning and monitoring of complex construction programmes from bid through to delivery, ensuring efficient methodology and timely execution.

Key responsibilities

• Develop the project planning, programme and delivery strategy for bids and construction phases in collaboration with the Project Team.
• Create and maintain pre‑construction and construction methodologies to optimise delivery.
• Produce the project plan, programme and Planning Report following company procedures.
• Report progress against contracts and programmes, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
• Generate data for weekly dashboards, status updates and delay analysis.
• Chair weekly planning meetings, coordinate 4D BIM models and review change proposals for time impact.
• Record as‑built production rates and benchmark for future projects.
• Support and mentor team members in planning techniques and tools.

Required profile

• Excellent communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
• Strong analytical ability to produce clear reports and diagrams.
• Comprehensive understanding of construction methodology, building technology and procurement processes.
• Good knowledge of construction contracts and commercial terms.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (formulas, pivot tables).
• PowerPoint proficiency.
• Experience with 4D BIM software.
• Working knowledge of Primavera P6.
