Principal Consultant – Confluent (Data & Integration Platforms)

About the role

We are looking for a Principal Consultant to lead the architecture, governance and modernization of enterprise‑scale data and integration platforms for our clients in London. The role combines deep technical expertise with strategic leadership, guiding the design and operation of Snowflake, Confluent Cloud, Azure, and related automation ecosystems.

Key responsibilities

• Define enterprise platform architecture, reference models, standards and engineering guardrails.
• Build modernization roadmaps for data, streaming, integration and platform engineering ecosystems.
• Lead Snowflake architecture covering security, governance, RBAC, data sharing, performance optimisation and multi‑environment strategy.
• Design event‑driven solutions on Confluent Cloud, establishing topic governance, schema management and HA/DR.
• Establish integration patterns using Kafka, Kafka Connect, APIs and streaming architectures.
• Define and implement CI/CD standards with GitHub Actions, driving Infrastructure‑as‑Code and release governance.
• Promote Data Mesh principles, domain ownership models and metadata management across the enterprise.
• Collaborate with business and engineering teams to deliver scalable data products.

Required profile

• Extensive experience as a platform architect or senior consultant on large‑scale data platforms.
• Proven ability to lead technical strategy, governance and modernization initiatives.
• Strong customer‑facing skills and experience delivering hands‑on guidance across multiple domains.
• Experience working in Azure cloud environments and enterprise‑grade integration ecosystems.
