Public Cloud Senior DevOps Engineer (Google Cloud)

About the role

We are modernising our infrastructure on Google Cloud and need a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build and operate secure, resilient platforms. You will join a collaborative, product‑focused team delivering scalable solutions for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and continuously improve cloud infrastructure and platform services on GCP.
• Write, review and maintain Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) ensuring security and quality standards.
• Support operation of existing products, including incident response and customer requests.
• Develop, test and release new features and enhancements for platforms.
• Manage work using delivery tools such as Jira and contribute to sprint planning and roadmap activities.
• Leverage automation and AI‑enabled tooling to increase efficiency, reliability and cost‑effectiveness.
• Identify and implement improvements to products, services and operational processes.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide coverage for the Lead Engineer, including participation in an on‑call rota.

Required profile

• Proven experience designing, building or supporting cloud‑based infrastructure solutions.
• Strong background with Infrastructure as Code tools and version‑control systems.
• Understanding of secure engineering practices and industry standards.
• Experience working in agile delivery environments (Scrum or Kanban).
• Ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
