Remote Consultant Rheumatologist (Flexible Hours)

About the role

Medefer is seeking an experienced Consultant Rheumatologist to deliver virtual specialist care across the UK. The role is fully remote, allowing you to set your own schedule and work the hours that suit you, while supporting GPs and patients through digital consultations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide virtual rheumatology assessments and management plans for patients.
• Review, triage and respond to GP referrals, offering clinical advice and arranging investigations.
• Write onward referrals to hospital departments when required.
• Recommend patients for telephone clerking assessments by registrars or advanced nurse practitioners.
• Follow up investigation results with patients, GPs and hospital teams.
• Document all patient interactions and outcomes on Medefer’s secure IT platform.

Required profile

• Registered Consultant Rheumatologist with at least 12 months of NHS consultant experience.
• Active GMC licence and inclusion on the Specialist Register.
• Interest in digital health, clinical informatics and innovative care models.
