Senior Claims Adjuster – Marine Liability

About the role

Avencia Consulting is seeking a Senior Claims Adjuster to lead the strategy and management of complex, high‑value marine liability claims in London. You will own a portfolio from notification through to resolution, working closely with underwriting, brokers, legal providers and reinsurance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of complex, high‑value marine liability claims from start to finish.
• Lead claims strategy and act as the primary contact for underwriters.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients and external stakeholders.
• Provide claims insight to underwriting, influencing portfolio wording and new business decisions.
• Negotiate complex coverage matters and analyse claims data to support underwriting.
• Contribute to client and broker meetings, conferences and business‑development activities.
• Support and mentor junior members of the claims team.

Required profile

• Significant experience handling complex or high‑value claims, preferably within marine or liability lines.
• Strong technical claims knowledge and the ability to interpret policy wording.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
• Proven experience working closely with underwriters and brokers.
• ACII qualification or progress towards it.
