Senior Electrical Project Engineer (Renewable Energy)

About the role

We are representing a forward‑thinking engineering group that designs, builds and connects large‑scale renewable and high‑voltage infrastructure across the UK. The Senior Electrical Project Engineer will own the delivery of multiple high‑voltage and renewable energy projects, leading multidisciplinary teams from design through to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Take technical and managerial ownership of electrical infrastructure projects from scope to completion.
• Lead and mentor project engineers, supporting their development.
• Manage commercial aspects, including cost forecasting, progress tracking and financial reporting for projects valued £1M–£10M.
• Oversee procurement, review supplier tenders and ensure best value and compliance.
• Ensure health, safety and environmental standards are met throughout delivery.
• Chair stakeholder meetings and maintain clear communication with clients, grid operators and internal teams.
• Coordinate with design teams to finalise schematics, layouts and commissioning documentation.
• Manage logistics, materials and site coordination to meet delivery milestones.
• Drive continuous improvement in project processes, quality and safety performance.

Required profile

• Adaptable, commercially aware engineer with a strong sense of accountability.
• 5+ years delivering electrical or high‑voltage projects in renewables, utilities or infrastructure.
• Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Project Management or equivalent.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage contractors.
• Excellent communication, client management and negotiation skills.
• Organised, proactive and detail‑focused with strong IT and reporting abilities.
• Professional registration (IEng/CEng) or working towards it is beneficial.
• Willingness to travel across UK sites and hold a full UK driving licence.
