Assistant Site Manager – Construction

About the role

The Assistant Site Manager supports the Site Manager in overseeing daily field operations on residential construction sites. This role ensures that subcontractors are coordinated, material supplies are available, and health and safety standards are upheld throughout the build programme.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and control labour and subcontractor activities to meet the weekly build programme.
• Complete weekly planning sheets and provide direction to contractors to maintain quality standards.
• Co‑ordinate material deliveries with the Site Manager to keep the construction schedule on track.
• Ensure all site personnel comply with Construction Health and Safety Regulations and company safety procedures.
• Carry out regular safety inspections and enforce method statements and risk assessments.
• Support the Sales Executive with customer options, variations, and resolution of issues.
• Arrange and accompany statutory and National House Builders Council inspections.
• Assist in the Home Quality Inspection process prior to final sign‑off.

Required profile

• Ability to assist and deputise for the Site Manager as needed.
• Strong organisational skills for managing labour, subcontractors, and material logistics.
• Commitment to maintaining health, safety, and environmental standards on site.
• Effective communication with sales, buying, and subcontractor teams.
