Senior HR Advisor – Employee Relations

About the role

We are seeking a Senior HR Advisor to join Greystar’s UK & Ireland Property Operations team in London. The role will serve as a trusted HR partner, focusing on employee relations across student and multifamily housing operations and providing expert guidance throughout the employee lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Lead complex, high‑risk employee relations cases for UK & Ireland, delivering authoritative guidance and ensuring legally compliant outcomes.
• Advise managers and senior stakeholders on UK & Ireland employment law, risk management, and strategic options.
• Provide second‑line and escalation‑level ER support, coaching managers through investigations, hearings and difficult conversations.
• Oversee and quality‑assure the full lifecycle of ER cases handled by HR Advisors, ensuring documentation and recommendations meet high standards.
• Partner with HR Business Partners on restructures, TUPE, mergers & acquisitions, disposals and organisational change requiring advanced ER expertise.
• Build strong relationships with onsite leaders, acting as a go‑to advisor and champion of positive workplace culture.
• Identify case trends, share insights with business partners and implement risk‑mitigation strategies.
• Lead continuous improvement of HR processes, update policies, ER templates, guidance and toolkits across UK & Ireland operations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in employee relations within the UK and Ireland, including handling complex and high‑volume cases.
• Deep knowledge of UK & Ireland employment legislation and best practice.
• Proven ability to coach managers, conduct investigations and manage escalations.
• Experience supporting restructures, TUPE, M&A and organisational change initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across a large, geographically dispersed operation.
