Senior Manager, Merchant Risk Strategy

About the role

Paysafe is seeking a Senior Manager to own and evolve the merchant risk strategy across its global payments platform. You will lead a team of Risk Strategists, shaping risk frameworks that support onboarding, underwriting, portfolio management and lifecycle controls while balancing growth and customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Define, measure and continuously improve merchant risk strategies across the payments ecosystem.
• Design risk frameworks such as segmentation, automation thresholds, probation models and graduation paths.
• Collaborate with Product, Data Science, Engineering and Compliance to embed risk decisions into live systems.
• Set success metrics, evaluate performance and adjust strategies based on data insights.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of risk analysts to solve complex, data‑driven problems at scale.

Required profile

• Deep analytical thinker comfortable with ambiguity and evidence‑based decision making.
• Proven experience leading risk strategy or risk management initiatives in a payments or financial services environment.
• Strong communication skills to articulate trade‑offs and influence senior stakeholders.
• Ability to define measurable outcomes and drive continuous improvement.
