Senior Manager, Product Applications

About the role

Semtech is seeking a technically fearless, customer‑obsessed leader to head its Global Applications Engineering team. This senior manager will own the full applications lifecycle for high‑speed optical products, bridging breakthrough technology with real‑world customer success across North America and Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end Applications Engineering lifecycle: standards engagement, product definition, launch planning, customer enablement, technical escalations and post‑sales support.
• Drive strategic engagement with the optical ecosystem, building deep technical relationships with PIC vendors, photodiode suppliers, silicon‑photonic integrators and optical module architects.
• Represent Semtech in key standards bodies (XPO‑MSA, 400G Optical MSA, 200G LPO MSA, OIF, IEEE 802.3) to influence future specifications.
• Manage and mentor a global Applications Engineering team located in the US, Canada and the UK while collaborating with regional FAE groups, including China.
• Provide executive visibility on product status, adoption metrics and ecosystem partnerships.

Required profile

• Proven senior technical leader with strong customer focus and ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
• Comfortable discussing high‑speed signal integrity in the lab and shaping industry standards.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and leading globally distributed teams.
• Ability to translate complex optical technologies into clear value propositions for strategic customers.
