About the role
3M is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join its Aycliffe site in the UK. You will work closely with manufacturing, product development, validation and change‑management teams, applying your curiosity and technical expertise to drive quality excellence.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and continuously improve Quality Management System (QMS) processes to meet corporate, regulatory and customer requirements.
- Conduct audits, quality investigations, root‑cause analyses and CAPA activities, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
- Analyse quality metrics and trends to identify risks, improve performance and support data‑driven decisions.
- Act as a subject‑matter expert on quality standards, risk‑based decision making and compliance.
- Mentor junior team members and influence cross‑functional stakeholders to strengthen the quality culture.
- Initiate and lead quality improvement projects that deliver measurable business impact.
Required profile
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Science or a related technical discipline.
- Significant experience in a quality engineering role within a regulated manufacturing or technical environment.
- Proven experience with quality systems, audits, non‑conforming product management, CAPA and risk‑based thinking.
- Strong analytical abilities and effective stakeholder‑engagement skills.
- Professional quality certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer, CQI/IRCA Certified Auditor) are a plus.
