About the role

We are seeking a motivated Water Safety Assistant to join the Estates & Facilities team at Grange University Hospital. The role supports the Health Board in maintaining safe, compliant water systems across clinical and non‑clinical areas, contributing to patient and staff wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

  • Inspect and monitor water distribution, storage and treatment systems to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Carry out routine testing, sampling and documentation of water quality.
  • Report any non‑conformities and support corrective actions in collaboration with senior engineers.
  • Assist in the preparation of risk assessments and maintenance schedules for water‑related equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to audit activities.

Required profile

  • Reliable and detail‑oriented with a strong commitment to health and safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to follow established procedures and adapt to changing priorities.

Required skills

  • Basic understanding of water safety regulations and standards.
  • Experience with water sampling and testing methods.
  • Competence in using handheld testing equipment and recording data.
