Accounting Manager – Hybrid, Birmingham

About the role

We are partnering with a well‑established accountancy practice in Birmingham to find an experienced Accounting Manager. The role blends technical delivery, client advisory, and team leadership, offering a hybrid working model and clear progression to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
• Review statutory accounts, VAT returns and corporation tax computations.
• Act as the primary contact for key clients, providing proactive advice.
• Oversee workflow, deadlines and quality control across the accounts team.
• Coach and develop junior and senior team members.
• Identify opportunities for additional advisory services.
• Liaise with senior leadership on client and technical matters.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience within practice.
• Strong background in UK accountancy practice with portfolio management experience.
• Proven ability to supervise and develop team members.
• Excellent communication, commercial awareness and deadline management.
