Accounts Assistant – Finance Team

About the role

Join a respected British manufacturing business as an Accounts Assistant, supporting a dynamic finance team. You will handle purchase ledger duties, supplier accounts, and cash‑flow reporting, gaining exposure to a variety of finance processes.

Key responsibilities

• End‑to‑end purchase ledger, including invoice processing, coding and approvals
• Maintain supplier accounts, resolve queries and reconcile supplier statements
• Cash‑flow reporting, month‑end activities, accruals and aged creditors
• Ensure accurate coding across nominal, departmental and project cost centres
• Support credit control activities, including customer statements and payment allocations
• Assist with VAT returns, audit preparation and stock takes

Required profile

• Previous experience within Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and finance processes
• AAT qualified or studying towards AAT (desirable)
• Excellent Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to manage own workload and prioritise effectively
