About the role
The Management Accountant will work closely with the Financial Controller, delivering timely management accounts and payroll while supporting the finance team’s processes and compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare monthly management accounts and report within a 7‑day window after month‑end.
- Generate monthly payroll and submit all filings through the government gateways.
- Administer payroll changes, including new starters, leavers, tax codes and bank details.
- Maintain the holiday and absence tracking system.
- Review the VAT position, reconcile the VAT return and submit quarterly to HMRC.
- Oversee the accounts team by reviewing ledgers and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
- Organise and improve team processes and ensure timely payment runs for MD sign‑off.
- Create yearly P11D submissions for employees.
- Provide support during the year‑end audit.
Required profile
- Self‑motivated individual with a passion for numbers.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Strong IT experience.
- Keen eye for detail and process improvement.
- Energetic and positive attitude.
