Accounts Assistant – Hybrid (Birmingham)

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our growing finance team in Birmingham on a six‑month contract. The role works hybrid, with four days in the office and one day remote, offering a fast‑paced environment where you can make an immediate impact.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase invoices and ensure accurate coding.
• Assist with sales ledger activities, including invoicing and credit control.
• Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support month‑end processes such as journal entries and accruals.
• Manage supplier queries and maintain positive relationships.
• Assist with payment runs.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date financial records.
• Provide general administrative support to the finance team.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication skills.
