Accounts Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Accounts Assistant to support our finance team in North Nottinghamshire. The role involves handling day‑to‑day financial transactions and ensuring accurate record‑keeping in line with UK accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Record and maintain financial transactions, including accounts receivable and general ledger entries using Sage.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial records.
• Review, validate, and process invoices with proper coding and approvals.
• Reconcile booking income and raise all sales invoices.
• Enter financial data accurately and maintain organized physical and electronic filing systems.
• Assist the finance team with ad‑hoc projects, analysis, and other tasks as required.

Required profile

• Prior experience in an accounts assistant or similar role (preferably in the UK).
• Strong attention to detail and high level of numerical accuracy.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
• Good written and verbal communication abilities.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to identify discrepancies and propose solutions.
• Integrity and ability to handle confidential financial information.
• Team‑oriented and adaptable to changing priorities.
