Accounts Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join a dynamic finance team in Birmingham City Centre. The role offers a varied day‑to‑day experience across the full finance function, supporting the company’s growth.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase invoices and maintain supplier accounts.
• Raise sales invoices and support the Accounts Receivable function.
• Resolve supplier and customer queries.
• Allocate cash, maintain customer accounts and perform daily/monthly bank reconciliations.
• Set up new suppliers and keep supplier records up to date.
• Prepare and run payment batches and support month‑end activities.
• Take ownership of processes, identify improvements and contribute to wider finance projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
• Confidence in processing and raising invoices.
• Experience with cash allocation, bank reconciliations and payment runs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to resolve finance queries.
• Proactive mindset with initiative and a passion for improving processes.
