Accounts Assistant – Payables (Hybrid)

About the role

This Accounts Assistant position supports a fast‑growing finance team backed by private equity investment. The business is modernising its finance function with new technology, acquisitions and continuous improvement, offering an exciting environment to develop your career.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the end‑to‑end purchase ledger process.
• Process supplier invoices and obtain approvals.
• Run monthly payment cycles.
• Process employee expenses and company credit cards.
• Maintain supplier accounts and resolve queries.
• Support Accounts Receivable when required.
• Assist with month‑end close and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Collaborate with the wider finance team to improve processes.
• Support implementation and ongoing development of the new ERP system.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or Finance Officer role.
• Experience working across multiple finance areas.
• Proactive, self‑motivated approach.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Confidence using ERP systems (NetSuite experience advantageous).
• Good understanding of how finance transactions impact the wider accounts.
• Studying towards or holding AAT, ACCA or CIMA qualifications (beneficial but not essential).
