Accounts Clerk

About the role

Matthew James Removals & Storage Ltd is looking for an experienced Accounts Clerk to join their Crayford office. You will be responsible for handling all incoming and outgoing payments, invoicing and supporting the accounts team in a fast‑moving removals business.

Key responsibilities

• Use Microsoft Word, Outlook 365, Excel and other software to produce correspondence and maintain records, spreadsheets and databases.
• Manage the email inboxes, respond to client queries, process payments and send polite reminders to keep accounts up to date.
• Monitor UK and Spanish bank systems regularly, updating client accounts and informing relevant departments.
• Liaise with Spanish accountants to provide required paperwork and support cross‑border financial processes.
• Conduct quarterly reviews of accounts payable and meet with the Director to determine next steps.
• Coordinate with staff in other departments and external contacts, handling incoming and outgoing post.
• Organise and store paperwork, both physical and digital, ensuring easy retrieval.
• Order and maintain office supplies, toiletries and canteen provisions.
