Accounts Manager

About the role

My client is looking for an Accounts Manager to join the Gateshead head office. The role supports multiple UK trading entities and an overseas subsidiary, offering a hands‑on finance position within a growing organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping and process purchase and sales transactions across all entities.
• Manage customer invoicing and the end‑to‑end intercompany recharge process.
• Oversee credit control, chase aged debts and organise payment runs for accounts payable.
• Assist with payroll data collection and resolve payroll queries.
• Prepare and file UK VAT returns and support statutory compliance for each entity.
• Provide financial data for monthly management accounts and cash‑flow reporting.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified or qualified accountant (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or demonstrable finance operations experience.
• Experience handling multi‑entity finance and intercompany transactions.
• Strong knowledge of UK VAT compliance, credit control and payroll support.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with job‑management or accounting software.
• Ability to engage with multiple stakeholders and maintain discretion with sensitive data.
